Chapter 1 & 2

In Chapter 1 and 2, it describes all the possible laws for the citizens as well as the people apart of the government. What I found interesting in both chapter 1 and 2, is that these laws were made a really long time ago, which is still in effect today. These laws has kept both the government and the citizens of the U.S in order. The government had made sure that they had and still have the citizens best interests with the laws embedded.

Including those who were and is in office, there duty was to enforce a more perfect union and establish justice and liberty to those who were apart of the U.S. Throughout the end of the article chapter 1, it states all amendments and rights we have and must follow. In chapter 1 the first amendment states “ Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.” This quote shows the Government has respected and still want to further establish the union that citizens of the U.S wants. The citizens want freedom.

Now in chapter 2, there were statements and ideas that were made that supported the idea of freedom. What I’ve noticed today in our world, is that majority of every law made back then still affects us. We still have issues within our city. In chapter 2, it talks about how the Magna Carta and the Bill of Rights came with taxation that the people of England did not know about. In today’s time we do know about taxation, however it leads to confusion, because as citizens we were told that taxes are used to pay back the government. These taxes are “used” in order to fix things that we don’t have full control over. Things such as, fixing potholes in the streets, having cameras, security, in train stations, or buses. Most of these things that were put in place to protect us, sometimes does not go in our favor as citizens. These potholes are not always fixed. The cameras in the train stations are not always functional. These laws that were placed back then were supposed to help us as people of the nation. It was supposed to give us justice, liberty and freedom, but here we are still fighting for the same if not similar things people were fighting for back then.
